Cycle counters

also for high-temperature applications

Service life monitoring and associated maintenance intervals of an injection mould are often carried out using the so-called shot count. In modern injection moulding systems, the cycles are recorded on the machine side. Nevertheless, value is often placed on a cycle counter that remains directly on the mould and always provides clear information.

KNARR offers the mechanical counter in two different designs. Both types can be selected for left or right-hand installation. To avoid errors, the seven-digit counter cannot be reset. As a high-temperature version, the counter in the traditional design is designed for a permanent mould temperature of 200 °C.

In combination with an associated extension rod, the contact travel can be extended. The positioning is therefore more flexible, i.e. the pocket for the counter does not necessarily have to be incorporated into the mould plate. The space-saving, round type even offers six different lengths of extension rods as standard (total length 56 – 196 mm).

The lateral machining of the plates, which makes it necessary to screw the counter in place, is not required when using an installation aid (472479). The threads for screwing on the plastic housing can be machined from the top of the plate. Apart from holding the counter securely in place, the plastic casing provides even better protection against continuous thermal loads.

If space is limited, the cycle counter can also be screwed to the outside of the mould. In this case, an additional buffer (472482) is required to transfer the mechanical impulse to the counter when the mould is closed.
