The homogeneous cooling of a tool plays a key role in the quality of the final product. Appropriate cooling channels ensure controlled and targeted heat dissipation during production. To ensure that the cooling system functions reliably, it is absolutely essential that all holes and connections are securely sealed.
A wide variety of sealing elements can be used to ensure a permanent seal. So-called ball sealing plugs offer a compact, simple and highly reliable solution.
The main elements of the sealing plugs are a cylindrical housing, an internal ball and a grooved profile on the outer surface. The latter expands into the base material as soon as the ball is pressed into the housing. The advantages are obvious: ball sealing plugs offer a very simple, quick, reliable and space-saving solution for permanently sealing boreholes. They are resistant to high pressure (up to 100 bar) and high temperatures (up to 250°C/300°C) and can be used with different coolants. Screw connections or additional sealants are not required.
KNARR offers the ball sealing plugs in galvanised (70944) and stainless (730944) versions in seven and three common diameters, respectively.
